CDPH, California Latino 5 a Day Nutrition Campaign

Provided public relations services for more than five years working on many projects, among them planning and coordinating the Latino Health Awareness Month commemorations from 2002-2006; securing and media training the first-ever Latino Campaign spokesperson (Dr. Eloisa Gonzalez, then-Director of Physical Activity Program for the LA DHS); and coordinating a media partnership with a Spanish-language radio network. Conducted Hispanic media relations efforts that supported the overall 5 a Day Campaign in its many events and press conferences and assisted the California Nutrition Network in bringing the “Harvest of the Month” tool kit to a statewide audience, providing Spanish-language translation and adaptation services and media relations expertise to the project.
